UD LOS LLANOS   2   LANZAROTE   4,    22nd October 2017,

UD Lanzarote are normally know as Los Rpjillos (The Reds) but for their first time in the clubs history they became Los Rosados (The Pinkies) as they wore their pink and white strip in honour of International Day of women fighting breast cancer.

Neither side created too many openings in the first half but on the stroke of half time midfielder Borja ended off a good team move to give Lanzarote a 0-1 advantage to take into the break.

The La Palma side were much more determined in the opening stages of the second period and after only four minutes midfielder Armiche surprised Rojillos keeper Sasha with an effort from distance to level the score at 1-1.

The hosts spurred on by the goal now looked the better side and even when defender Ramos picked up his second card in the 65th minute and Los Llanos were reduced to ten men they still looked the more dangerous.

Just six minutes after the sending off and the home side went 2-1 in front when striker Nani headed home.

Lanzarote immediately got back into the game and in the 79th minute Alex Cruz levelled the match at 2-2 and only three minutes later 18 year old Gastón fired Lanzarote into a 2-3 lead.

With two minutes remaining a small argument between Josito and Nani ended up with both players being sent off when perhaps a yellow card would have sufficed however in the 92nd minute Ayoze Pérez will have no argument with his red card and both teams were left with just nine players each.

Gastón sealed the points in the 96th minute as Lanzarote move up to fifth spot just a point away from the playoffs. Next Sunday October 29th at 12 noon Lanzarote will host the league leaders UD San Fernando. Both teams have only tasted defeat once this season however the Gran Canarian side have more wins and lead the Rojillos by four points.
