A goal in the 93rd minute sees the Rojillos dismal away form continue. With just one point in their last eight games on the road is the reason why the league’s most supported club is sitting in 12th spot in Spain’s Tercera Division (Fourth Tier).

The first half of the match offered little in the way of action; it wasn’t until the 43rd minute when the La Palma side had the first effort on goal. Lanzarote must have feared the worst when the ball was crossed in and landed at the feet of striker Memo, he has a love of scoring against the Rojillos for all the clubs he has played for, though fortunately on this occasion his effort landed straight into the arms of the Lanzarote keeper Aridani.

The second half began with much more intensity with both sides looking to attack. Both teams struck the woodwork, firstly the home side in the 51st minute with defender Derek seeing his effort rebound off the bar and then in the 78th minute with Lanzarote on a good counter attack striker Yaco was unlucky  his strike flew off the woodwork.

Late on the Rojillos had a wonderful chance to claim all three points. On another good counter attack Rosmen fed the British lad Kennedy but his shot was saved by the foot of the La Palma keeper.

Lanzarote were to pay a huge price for that miss when in the 93rd minute the ball bounced on the edge of the box and defender Alex timed his shot to perfection and hit it sweetly into the top right hand corner giving his side victory with the last shot of the match.

Lanzarote drop one place to 12th position and on Sunday 2nd February at 12 noon in Tias will have the opportunity to improve on that league standing when they host relegation threatened Gran Canarian side UD Telde.
