THE ROJILLOS WELCOME NEW MANAGER MAXI BARRERA,   8th June 2017,  

Unión Deportiva Lanzarote unveiled their new manager for the forthcoming season on Wednesday evening Maxi Barerra.

Lanzarote’s new manager 36 year old Maxi Barrera.

Máximo Jesús Barrera Santos maybe young but he has already had several years of managing in the Tercera Division (fourth tier). In 2011/12 season he debuted in the Tercera Division with CD San Pedro Martir after gaining promotion with the same club the year before.

The 36 year old manager from Gran Canaria has also been the manager of UD Villa Santa Brígida and had a very successful time with his last club UD San Fernando both in the Tercera Division.

Lanzarote´s new coach said that he was very excited about becoming the Rojillos first team manager and will head into the 2017-18 season knowing that he has a lot of responsibility but has no nerves or pressure and will play the style of football that he enjoys. He likes his teams to keep the ball and try and control the game.

Club president José Domingo Machín and club secretary Domingo Gil had both agreed the day previous to carry on with the club for the next four years wished the best of luck to Maxi and hoped he could return the club back into Segunda B (League 1).
