CD TAHICHE 2 LANZAROTE 3, 2nd August 2019,
Another entertaining pre season match saw Lanzarote race to a 0-3 lead before the side one division below scored two late goals but the game never seemed in doubt.
On a beautiful summer evening in my home village new boy Adrián gave the Rojillos the lead from close range in the 20th minute.
Both managers completely changed their sides for the second half to give the full squad a run out.
Miguel Gómez looked in fine form terrorising the home sides defence. In the 58th minute and from 25 yards he unleashed one of his specials which flew into the top right hand corner and even by his standards it will go down as a cracker.
In the 67th minute Miguel Gómez ran in from the right wing and his shot was saved by the keeper’s feet but Lanzarote´s captain Rosmen fired in the rebound to make it 0-3.
The home side´s front men didn’t make life easy for the Rojillo defence and in the 75th minute a clever free kick hit under the wall by Joshua pulled a goal back to give Tahiche hope at 1-3.
Lanzarote had plenty of opportunities to seal the win but hit the post twice and Rosmen fired over following good work by striker Rami.
The hosts took full advantage and a brilliant team move in the 88th minute unlocked the Lanzarote defence which saw Raúl Also slotting home to end the match 2-3.
On Wednesday 7th at 7pm on Playa Grande beach in Puerto Del Carmen the club will have their annual beach training session. This is just up from Linekers bar and everyone is welcome to watch, have photos with the players and if the youngsters wish they will be able to train with the squad. It’s a great evening.
The evening before Tuesday 6th Lanzarote will host under 18 side Marítima at 8pm at Arrecife stadium. Entrance is free.
On Saturday 10th August Lanzarote play in the San Gínes tournament Segunda A (Championship) side UD Las Palmas at 7pm in Arrecife. This is by far the biggest pre season match.
